Standing with Ukraine at the California State Capitol

On the evening of October 24, our team went to the steps of the California State Capitol in Sacramento for a rally in support of Ukraine. Our founder Andrew Kuznetsov and Zlata Velikaia, who leads our communications, stood there with two of our partners, Russian America for Democracy in Russia (RADR) and The Sunflower Society.

People brought candles, Ukrainian and American flags, and signs, many of them painted by hand. Some read “Don’t look away” and “Keep supporting Ukraine.” Another said “A peace deal that rewards invasion is not peace, it’s an invitation for more war.” A few people brought their kids, and candles lined the foot of the steps.

Most days our work is repairing donated appliances for refugee families who are starting over here. Showing up in public for people this war has hurt is part of the same job. Thank you to everyone who came out, and to RADR and The Sunflower Society for standing there with us.

If you want to help families who are starting over in Northern California, see the donate page or volunteer with us.
